I wrote this little bit of oddness about 25 years ago, or so.  I was a bit of a strange 15 year old, but aren’t we all weird at 15…  Hope you enjoy this bit of darkness.  Please share your thoughts with me in the comments below.

Empty mind, delusions left behind, Worms eating my sanity, taste the rotted flesh of my dreams.

Dogs licking my soul, their rough tongues scraping away a hole, my whole existence drifts from that hole twisting like smoke, there goes all hope for a peaceful rest, the birds of carrion eat the rest.

A Kingly whisper makes me Prince of my nightly trysts to the graveyard of my hate where the tombstones are buried and the corpses set above ground.  They tell of desires to Kill, to know the Fresh taste of blood as the final meal. Sweetly pouring between the lips only to taste like bile.

My legs were broken on that final mile, yet I walked on the bloody stumps of my pride.

A wonderful review from Fox Emm over at Zombie Apocalypse Defense Force.  Give it a read and share your thoughts with me here in the comments.

In an effort to keep things fresh and interesting I’m going to start posting some of my old poetry.  I haven’t actually written a poem in years, so most of it will be from my juvenile years, but I’m not going to change them at all.  I will post them in their youthfully exuberance, and possibly terribly written, entirety.  As part of this I hope to engage others in conversation regarding writing as well as expression in any form.  So talk to me, leave comments, I want to hear from you.

For this first poem I actually want to post something my 10 year old daughter wrote for a class project on weather. (She is also writing a book with a friend, I’ll talk about that another time.) It may be just because I’m a Dad, but I was so impressed with it.

Lightning crashes

Swirling columns of air

Destroying in every direction you think

Hitting smashing killing hurting destroying damaging fire lightning

Damage Done

I love this little poem, and the awesome kid that wrote it.

Hope you enjoy it as much as I have.
